AK Sling Installation Tutorial
- Optional Leather Front Attachment |
First remove the magazine and open the action to ensure
that the rifle is not loaded.
|
|
For a quieter sling, you can remove
the snap hook by springing the flexible jaw to the
side by using two pliers. This leaves the D-ring
to be attached using a leather strap and broad-head
rivet from an SKS sling. It helps to soak the strap
in neatsfoot oil to soften it, and you may have
to take a utility knife and carefully trim the leather
strap narrower in order to fit through the front
sling attachment loop on the gas block. |
|
|
Pull the leather strap through the
front sling attachment on the gas block. Position
the leather strap so that the two closest slit holes
straddle the front attachment loop as shown below. |
|
|
Join the two closest slit holes by
inserting the broad-head rivet in both of the closest
slit holes, closing the leather strap around the
front sling attachment loop on the gas block. |
|
|
Wrap the long end of the leather strap
around the D-ring and push the broad-head rivet
through the slit hole in the long end of the leather
strap. |
